ABOUT MY WORK
Across my training and experience. I've consistently been drawn to the places where nourishment, care, and connection intersect. The core work is the same - helping people restore a sense of safety, agency, and clarity within themselves and in relationships with others.
MY APPROACH
I approach therapy through a relational and nervous-system-informed lens. Many of the challenges people bring to therapy-disordered eating, power struggles around food, emotional overwhelm. or difficulty moving forward after loss-are not problems of willpower or insight alone. They are shaped by early experiences, chronic loss. and moments when the nervous system learned to protect rather than trust.
My training spans eating disorder treatment, childhood feeding relationships, relational repair. and recovery after major life transitions. I integrate evidence-based tools as supports to help the nervous system process and regulate. Talk therapy is excellent for insight and understanding, but some experiences are held beyond words, and having multiple ways to support healing allows the work to be responsive and individualized. I integrate body-based approaches such as mindfulness, Animal Assisted Therapy, EMDR, and neurofeedback where appropriate and beneficial.
I don't believe there is one right way to heal, and I don't use any modality as a one-size-fits-all solution. We consider what fits your goals, your needs, and your pace. I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, paced, and grounded in respect for each person's lived experience. You don't need to arrive with the right words or a clear label. We begin where you are, and we work toward rebuilding trust - at a poce that feels safe and sustainable.
YOU MIGHT BE HERE BECAUSE...
You may understand your patterns, recognize your triggers and know why you react the way you do. And yet, certain everyday experiences or interactions may make it difficult to change the patterns.
"I know why I do this,
but
I still do it."
You've done the self-awareness work. You understand your history and recognize your patterns,. But knowing where something comes from doesn't always mean your responses automatically change.
"Something small happens, and my reaction is huge."
A comment, conflict, look, or moment of rejection can activate a response that feels much bigger than the situation itself.
"I can't explain why
I feel
this way."
You don't need to arrive with a perfect explanation or a neatly organized story. Sometimes our experiences are felt before they can be fully put into words.
"I have
tried
talking
about it."
Talking and understanding can be incredibly valuable. Sometimes it can also be helpful to explore what is happening beneath the level of conscious thought.
"I want to feel different - not just understand myself better."
Insight matters. But meaningful change also involves integration - when new understanding begins to become something you can actually experience and live.
AREAS OF FOCUS
My work centers on the relationships we have-with ourselves, with others, and with food-and on the ways past experiences can continue to shape how we respond in the present. My work isn't limited to a particular diagnosis or life event. I work with people who are trying to understand patterns that may be affecting how they relate to themselves, to others, to food and their bodies, and the transitions they are navigating.
Understanding recurring patterns.
You may find yourself repeating familiar
dynamics, struggling with boundaries people-pleasing, conflict, emotional disconnection. or difficulty trusting others Therapy or relationship coaching can also provide support as you navigate relationship chances the end of a marriage, or rebuilding your sense of self after divorce or end of a relationship.
Find a different relationship with eating.
For some people, food or eating is a source of anxiety, shame, conflict or disconnection. Therapy or coaching can help explore the emotional and relational patterns surrounding food while working toward greater trust, flexibility, and freedom.
Because meals are about more than food.
Feeding children can bring up worry, pressure. parents feel responsible for getting their child to eat (or not eat too much).
I help parents understand feeding dynamics and develop approaches that support connection, trust, and a healthier relationship with food for life. It's much easier to protect a child from developing an eating disorder than it is to treat them later. But if that is where you are, I can help with eating disorder treatments including ARFID, Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating Disorder.
A PERSONAL NOTE
Along with my professional training, I bring my own life experiences to my work - including navigating major transitions, rebuilding after divorce, and the ongoing work of personal growth. These experiences have deepens my empathy and fuel my commitment to walking alongside others with authenticity, respect, and hope.
